Booking Agreement
These Terms and Conditions apply to all bookings made with Chanoga Safaris (“we”, “us”, “our”). By making a booking, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions. The person making the booking warrants that they have authority to accept these Terms on behalf of all travellers named on the booking.
Role of Chanoga Safaris
2
Chanoga Safaris operates as a safari planner, arranger, and, where applicable, a private guide. Chanoga Safaris acts solely as an intermediary and does not provide travel services as a principal. We arrange services provided by independent third-party suppliers, including but not limited to safari lodges and camps, transport providers, and activity operators.
We are not an airline, insurer, or accommodation provider and do not arrange international flights or provide travel insurance.
Quotations & Pricing
3
All quotations are provided in USD unless otherwise stated. Prices are subject to availability at the time of booking and may change due to supplier rate adjustments, park fee increases, fuel surcharges, or currency fluctuations. Once a deposit has been received, pricing is fixed unless changes are requested by the client or imposed by suppliers.
Deposits & Payments
4
A booking is confirmed only upon receipt of the required 30% deposit. Deposit amounts, final payment deadlines, and accepted payment methods will be clearly outlined at the time of booking. Final payment is typically required between 60 and 90 days prior to travel, depending on supplier policies. Failure to make payments by the agreed deadlines may result in cancellation without refund.
Cancellations by the Client
5
Cancellations are subject to the policies of third-party suppliers and the bespoke nature of safari planning. Unless otherwise stated, deposits are non-refundable. Cancellations closer to departure may incur cancellation fees of up to 100% of the total booking value.
No refunds are provided for unused services, late arrivals, early departures, or changes made during travel. Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended.
Changes or Cancellations by Chanoga Safaris
6
While every effort is made to operate itineraries as planned, Chanoga Safaris reserves the right to amend routes, accommodation, activities, or schedules due to weather, wildlife movements, safety considerations, or operational requirements. Comparable alternatives will be provided where possible. Such changes do not constitute grounds for refund.
Travel Insurance (Mandatory)
7
Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for all guests and must include coverage for medical expenses, emergency evacuation, trip cancellation or interruption, and personal liability. Proof of insurance may be requested prior to travel. Chanoga Safaris accepts no responsibility for losses arising from inadequate or absent insurance coverage.
Health, Fitness & Participation
8
Safari travel involves remote locations, wildlife encounters, and variable environmental conditions. By booking, guests confirm that they are medically and physically fit to participate in safari activities, have disclosed any relevant medical conditions prior to travel, and understand the inherent risks involved.
Guests must follow all guide instructions at all times. Failure to do so may result in exclusion from activities without refund.
Any health or medical information provided will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Wildlife & Environmental Risk
9
Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed, and wildlife encounters are unpredictable. Chanoga Safaris is not responsible for injury, illness, loss, or damage arising from wildlife encounters, natural events, or environmental conditions, except where caused by proven negligence.
Third-Party Suppliers
10
Chanoga Safaris acts as an intermediary between clients and third-party suppliers and is not responsible for the acts, omissions, delays, cancellations, or service failures of those suppliers. Additional supplier terms and conditions may apply.
This may involve the disclosure of personal information to overseas suppliers, as outlined in our Privacy Policy.
Limitation of Liability
11
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chanoga Safaris shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses. Any liability is limited to the total amount paid by the client for the booking in question. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Photography & Marketing
12
Unless otherwise advised in writing prior to travel, guests consent to the use of photographs or video footage taken during their safari that may include identifiable individuals for marketing, editorial, or promotional purposes.
Consent may be withdrawn for future use at any time by contacting Chanoga Safaris.
Governing Law
13
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Australia, with consideration given to services delivered in Botswana.
Acceptance of Terms
14
Payment of a deposit constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
Force Majeure
15
Chanoga Safaris shall not be liable for any delay, disruption, alteration, suspension, or cancellation of services resulting from events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, floods, droughts, fires, pandemics, epidemics, government actions, political unrest, war, terrorism, strikes, transportation disruptions, or wildlife movements.
In such circumstances, no refunds are guaranteed. Any refunds, credits, or alternative arrangements will be subject to amounts recoverable from third-party suppliers. Travel insurance is essential to protect against losses arising from force majeure events.
